 Big Berry Bear 


This is the knitting pattern for my Big Berry Teddy Bear. Big Berry Bear is knit in James C. Brett Marble chunky knitting wool but can just as easily be made in any chunky wool.
Big Berry Bear measure approx 36cm high in sitting position and takes one 200g ball of James Brett Marble chunky wool in the main colour and a small amount of black double knit for the nose mouth and eyes.

Festive Boot Toppers

Jazz up your Festive outfit with these boot cuffs / toppers. They slip over the tops of your boots to add fun, comfort and warmth. Worked in a large rib outer with narrow rib inner they will expand to fit from an ankle boot up to a ladies wellington boot.

I have used Robin Chunky but these can be made from any chunky wool, the holly leaves are worked in a Double knitting wool

You will need from 100 to 180g (approx) of chunky wool (140 meters per ball) depending on the style and a small amount of green double knit for leaves.
You will also need 6mm straight knitting needles and 4mm straight knitting needles for the leaves

 

Cuddles for Girls Outfits

Knit in King Coles Cuddles DK or Sirdar Snuggly Snowflake DK (or other yarn with similar tension 20sts and 28rows to 10cm). These clothes are so soft and cuddly.

The pattern includes instructions for a Sleeping Bag, Pniafore Dress, Cardigan and Hoodie Cardigan. 

These fit my Cuddles Bear but also other Bears such as Build a Bear Workshop or Bear Factory if they measure approx

40 to 46cm tall and 41 to 46cm chest/tummy.

These are knit on 4mm needs in 1 x 1 rib and  St-st so a nice quick knit. 

 

Ready for the Football Outfits

Get your teddy bear ready for football and make him his own football outfit.

These have been designed to fit my Cuddle Bears but will also fit other bears or dolls 40 to 44cm tall with 41 to 46cm chest.

This knitting pattern includes instructions to make his top, shorts, socks and football boots. The photo shows the outfits in England Scotland Wales and Northern Ireland colours and instructions are given for each of these in the pattern.

But why not choose colours for your own favourite local or national football, soccer or rugby team!!

I have used Stylecraft Special DK yarn as this comes in lots of different colours but any DK weight yarn with tension of 22 sts and 30 rows can be used.

You will need 1 x 100g of white, 1 x 100g of contrast colour and approx 20g black for boots for each of the strips. The England strip also needs 40g red for socks and 10g of Royal blue for side stripes and Northern Ireland strip also needs approx 35g of navy blue.

 

Cuddle and Snuggle Bears 

This is my design for bears made from Sirdar Snuggly Snowflake DK or Chunky wools
Cuddle made from DK wool is 43cm high and takes 3 x 25g balls
Snuggle made from Chunky wool is 50cm tall and takes 5 x 25g balls
You will also need 150/250g toy stuffing and a small amount of brown DK wool for the features.
This pattern has the same basic pieces as the Big Berry and Berry Bears so if you already have these patterns you can adapt the pattern to make these.

 

Boys School Uniform Outfits

Here is a clothes pattern to fit my Cuddle and Snuggle and Big Berry and Berry Bears, The clothes will also fit bears approx 43 or 50cm tall with tummy measuring 44 or 60cm.
The clothes are made in Stylecraft Special DK or any DK wool giving tension of 22 sts and 30 rows to 10cm.
Pattern includes instructions in two sizes for Trousers, Shirt, V Neck Jumper, Tie, Shoes and Satchel Backpack
It does not include instructions to make the bears. This is available separately.

 

Chunky Slipper Socks Knitting Pattern

This is my own design knitting pattern for  some really cozy slipper socks. They are made using a chunky / bulky yarn which is used double throughout so they knit up really quickly and are nice and warm to wear. Needle size 8mm (US 11).

 

The pattern includes 4 different variations and I give instructions for two sizes ladies Medium (uk size 4 to 6 EU37-39.5 ) and ladies Large (UK size 6 to 8 EU39.5-42)

Mac Panada

This is the knitting pattern for my Mac Panda. 

Mac Panda measure approx 40cm high and takes one 100g ball in Black and 2 100g balls in white of Robin Chunky with wool and oddments of black white and blue in double knitting.

The pattern is 6 pages of full instructions and photographs to help you make your own Mac Panada. 

 

Marble Mouse

This is the pattern for Marble Mouse. He is made in James C Brett Marble double knitting wool but can be made in any double knitting wool.

He is made from 2 x 100g balls of Marble Double knitting a small amount of black wool and 150 grams of toy stuffing.

The pattern is 6 pages of instructions and photos to help you make your own Marble Mouse.

 

Bobble Stripe Cushion Knitting Pattern

This is my own design for a cushion cover made in aran weight wool to fit a cushion pad 18 x 18 inches (45 x 45 cm) 

 It is a great pattern for using up small quantities of aran.  

It needs approx 60g in pink, 60g in beige and 150g in cream Robin aran with 25% wool other makes may require different quantities. . 

The photo shows the front and back views of the cushion which has a stripe bobble pattern to the front and a plain stocking stitch and rib back with four button fastening.  The pattern also includes instructions for making just a plain stocking stitch front as an alternative. 

 

Zingy Cushion and Toy

This pattern is for making a cushion cover and toy mascot based on Zingy from the EDF adverts.

I have made these from Sirdar Supersoft Aran with oddments of white and black double knitting wool for the cushion and felt for the toy face. 

The pattern is 6 pages of full instructions and photographs to help you make your own Zingy cushion and toy.

 

 Santa and Mrs Claus Outfits

Get ready for Christmas with these Santa and Mrs Claus outfits for your teddy bears. These  fit my Cuddle Bear (bear pattern available separately) but will fit any bear approx 40 to 46cm tall (Build a Bear/Bear Factory etc).

They are knit in Sirdar Snowflake or similar DK yarn and small amout of black DK on 4mm needles.

Fairisle & Flowers Cusion and Pin Cushion

A cushion cover and pincushion using both fairisle (stranded colourwork) and intarsia techniques.
I have used Ideal from Bergere de France  but other DK yarns can be used giving the same tension. 22sts x 26 rows.
You will need 3 x 50 g balls in main colour (approx 375metres) and 1 x 50g ball in each of 3 other colours (apprx 125 metres of each.
This is enough to make both the cushion cover and the pin cushion.
Or 1 ball of each colour for the pin cushion.
The cushion buttons across the front with 5 buttons and fits a 45 x 45cm cushion pad.The pin cushion is approx 15cm x 15cm.

 

Fairisle Jar Desk Tidy

This is a great little project to practice your fairisle (stranded colourwork) knitting and use up some of your yarn oddments.
Make these handy desk tidies with an empty 1lb jam jar (approx. 380ml, 12cm tall, 23cm circumference).
Jar A is great for a beginner as it starts with a very simple design and progresses to more complex pattern and Jar B has a more traditional Fairisle pattern.
You will need approximately 10g of DK yarn in the main colour and 5g each of two contrast colours (three contrast colours for Jar B).

Berry Bear 

This is the knitting pattern for my Pink Berry Teddy Bear. Pink Berry is knit in James C. Brett Marble double knitting wool but can just as easily be made in any double knitting wool. 

Pink Berry measure approx 30cm high and takes 130 grammes of double knitting wool in the main colour and a small amount of black for the nose mouth and eyes.

The pattern is 6 pages of full instructions and photographs to help you make your own Pink Berry Teddy. 

 

Steve and Danno

This is my design for two small teddy bears made from Estelle Feather Long Pile yarn but any eyelash type yarn can be used.

The bears are named after the Hawaii Five O stars. Steve is 20cm tall and Danno is 15cm small.

Each bear takes only one 50gram ball and you will also need small amounts of black double knitting wool and toy stuffing and a length of ribbon.


Metal Frame Purse 3 sizes 

This pattern is for making purses which have a metal clasp frame (available from several sellers on ebay). Instructions are given for three sizes of frame (4 5 and 6 inches) but it can easily be adapted to fit any size frame.

I have made these from Stylecraft Special Double knitting wool but any double knitting wool can be used

The pattern is 5 pages of full instructions and photographs to help you make your own purse or small clutch bag.

 

Ruffle Clasp Handbag 

These pretty handbags make a great accessory for that special occasion. The Blue bag has an A shaped Metal frame with a cross bar over which the knitting is folded to be stitched in place and the cream bag has a more traditional clasp bag frame onto which the knitting is stitched. 

5 pages of instructions and lots of photographs to show you how to make and line the bag (lining is optional). 

Also instructions for the flower broach/corsage and a knitted shoulder strap for the bag

Long Chunky Boot Socks 

Long chunky socks knit in the round using the 'magic loop' circular knitting needle method (or convert to knit on 4 double ended pointed needles if you prefer).
These are long semi fitted socks knit in chunky wool to keep your toes nice and cosy with wide turnover cuffs that fit over the tops of your boots.
Instructions are given for womens and mens sizes and are adjustable to fit different foot and leg lengths to get your perfect fit.
The mens style has deep turnover cuffs and ladies style has turnover cuffs finished off with pom-pom ties so the socks can be worn with either your wellington boots or narrower fashion boots.
I have used Robin Chunky in shade 24 but these can be made from any chunky wool which gives the same tension (tension 16sts and 22 rows over stocking stitch on size 6mm circular needle).
Each pair of socks takes 3 x 100 gram balls of wool (140 meters per ball)

Aran Cable Cushion Knitting Pattern

This is my own design for a cushion cover made in aran weight wool to fit a cushion pad 18 x 18 inches (45 x 45 cm) 

 

It needs approx 250 grams in Robin aran with 25% wool other makes may require different quantities. . 

The photo shows the front of the cushion which has a an all over cable pattern. The back has a plain stocking stitch and rib back with four button fastening.
